僕が何十回、何百回と見ている映画「タクシードライバー」の主人公についてです。
４４マグナムについては、「ダーティハリー」の影響もあって憧れが強いのかもしれません。
曲と合わさって、淋しげな感じ、空虚な感じが出せていればいいなぁと思っています。

This is about the protagonist of the movie "Taxi Driver", a movie I've seen a million times now. The 44 magnum probably became a desirable object because of "Dirty Harry"...
Matching the lyrics with the tune, I hoped to create a lonely, empty feeling.

Originally sung by Luka, hiro' said on his blog (back in 2012):

今回の曲は、アナログサウンド（アコギ）にデジタルヴォイス（ボカロ）というコンセプトの作品です。
『夢の後』という曲は自分の事を書いている歌詞で思い入れが物凄く強いので、僕が歌ったら感情を込めすぎてしまうのは明白なので、あっさり歌わせているこの形くらいがリスナー的には聴きやすいのかも、と思ったりもします。

This tune is written with the idea of mixing analogue (acoustic guitar) with digital (Vocaloid). The lyrics to "after the dream" are laden with personal sentiments, so it is obvious that when I sing it I'll put in too much emotion, so I thought this version would be easier on the listener's ears.

The song later appeared in Karaoke-boxes all over the country and hiro' decided to sing it himself, which is the video above. For the Vocaloid version, click here (YT vid).

About the song, hiro' wrote on his blog:

(...) 周りの景色がモノクロになり、しゃべり声も物音もなくなり、目の前が真っ白に輝いて、無の音「静寂の音」が聴こえる時がテーマです。(...)歌詞の解釈は僕の言う以外に捉えてもらってもいいんですが、僕的には、「光の中で手探りしても結局誰ともつながれない、孤独の闇を切り裂いてもそこにはまた孤独があるだけ」という感じです。

The theme is the moment when the surroundings become monochrome, all voices and sounds disappear, everything in front of ones eyes become a bright white and in the sound of nothingness you can hear "the sound of silence".
(...) One can interpret the lyrics any way other then how I explain them, but for me personally they hold the following meaning: "even when groping around in the light, in the end one cannot connecting to anyone. Even when cutting through the darkness of loneliness, there still is only loneliness beyond that."

Project announcement - New Drama CD Project "Warumono (warai) series" + Preview

On my Drama CD blog I am working on the Warumono (warai) series (わるもの（笑）シリーズ）, which I dubbed "Bad guys (lol) series", consisting of two CDs:
1) Wataru Seken wa Oni Darake　（渡る世間は鬼だらけ） released October 22, 2011
2) Ookami wa Tsurai yo 　（狼はつらいよ） released October 26, 2011

The series takes three well known stories with a common "bad guy" and retells the them in a completely different, and generally quite humorous, way.

The first CD tells three stories where the bad guy is an Oni, a Japanese Ogre like creature.

Machigerita got signed under Frontier Works and released the album "マチゲ箱" (MachigeBako - Machigerita Box) on November 20th 2013.

On the NicoNico page of the song, Machigerita posted the following comment:

A Happy New Year to one and all!

Over the past year, this blog has been receiving a few more hits. Thank you!
I'm still updating my LiveJournal, and I'm still in the process of moving the translations I am completely happy with to this blog.

Also, as a New Year's resolution, I decided to start a daily project. Don't worry, I'll keep translating lyrics when I feel like doing so or when someone requests them. I just want to introduce a little bit of Japanese culture as well.

So, what's this new project?


It's the translation of a drama CD series; "Voice Calendar, Story of 365 Days"

To keep things orderly, I opened up a new blog for Drama CD (track) translations only, and this is where these daily posts will go. Only the intorduction and Opening track will be presented here

On the Drama CD journal I will upload the mp3 belonging to the translation. It is only for sampling purposes and will be up for 30 days only, after which I'll take the link to the mp3 down.

I'll be translating a little more freely with this series than I normally do with lyrics. feedback will be much appreciated~
